My name is Austyn and I am 8 yrs old, I have owned Megan for almost one year. Jane Melby found her for me she was owned by Brenda Rykal, Brenda started her in reining and then had her switched over to barrels, it was a good switch because Megan loves to barrel race. Christine Nevala did some of the training on Megan for barrels. I won my first big barrel race this summer with Megan it was the UBRA World Finale Youth 1D Champion. Megan and I have been consistently placing in the 1D all summer she is so much fun. We are currently at the top of the UBRA point standings for the year end 1D Youth division. I have never won a saddle and want one so bad. I think Megan is the most special horse ever because she takes care of me and trys really hard.
When I started she had to wait for me at the barrels because I wasn't use to such a fast horse but now I can usually keep up with her, well maybe sometimes I keep up with her. Megan also won the 2009 MN NBHA Youth 1D with Cayla Melby, Cayla helps me ride Megan and loves her almost as much as I do.  Thank you for nominating Mega Nifty for horse of the year I'm happy other people think shes special too.
